PY ON YOUR SIDE

it's just me.

spent the morning walking around in the rain dressed in black listening to morrissey. it was nice. it was muddy. morrissey is still my hero....since 7th grade. he still delivers to me. ive been reading an interesting book on him and it dissects every song recorded by him (solo and smiths). there is commentary by himself, marr...producers, players...speaks of what was going on socially at the time of the recordings. called Morrissey by Jonny Rogan. my mom gave it to me.

Its the same way here in Northern California...icky, rainy and dark outside. A perfect day to listen to Viva Hate...

How cool. I've loved him forever as well. Went to see him at The Hollywood Bowl a bunch of years ago. When I first moved to LA they had a "Morrissey Convention" - if you can believe there would be such a thing. What an unbelievable blast that was. High energy - loved all the people there. Morrissey everywhere. Every conceivable CD, book, promo stuff you could ever imagine. I bought this book called "Morrissey and Marr - The Severed Alliance. The Definitive Story of The Smiths" - by Johnny Rogan - that covered their early days (sounds similar). I read it then but can't remember much of it now...other than I found it very interesting.

He has such the cynical touch and says things the way they need to be said...for my tastes. My favorite has always been Suedehead. I just put that on repeat and that guitar at the beginning pretty much is a dead on match to how I feel... I've looped it and have written entire manuals with just that playing.

Just got back from being outside as well. Bring on the black hovering clouds. I just love how vast they look in LA. Will have to give that book another read. I wanted to see Morrissey as he was on tour recently but the only place he was booked around here was "Bakersfield." I'm still shaking my head trying to figure out that one. Have a great day!!

It was years later when I figured out what he was yoddling at the end of that song... Sigh...such a clever one he is.

A little "thread" mixing here...Dear Santa, please use your magic to warm Morrissey's heart to the notion that a Smith's reunion tour would be absofrickinglutely brilliant! While you're at it send a little spark to Robert Plant too...

Good one...yeah that would be quite the good move. Perhaps achievable with some "green" fairy dust - tee hee hee.

Another rainy start in LA. That means the air is going to be sparkling when the clouds clear later today. It bodes well for a great walk today Pete.
For me, in an elementary school classroom, rain in LA means indoor recesses with 29 4th graders ( Glass half full: finally time I get to teach scrabble and do some art with them.) Ya wanna go back in time? Walk into any elementary school office that you pass. It helps if it looks like your old school.

During this muddy pilgrimage of introspection, was there not a brief, unexpected interlude with a beautiful female face?

Do you remember her?

Another soggy sojourner, you shattered each other's solitude for an instant.

Eye contact, a gentle smile, somehow familiar...
Perhaps even an involuntary, "hey...".
For a brief second two souls share an astral embrace.

Suddenly, the stoplight changes, and you're alone again, eyes on the road ahead, the intersection all but forgotten.

But you remember, don't you?
Paths crossed, her eyes, that smile...
Mozzer colors the moment with bittersweet thirds.

Of course you remember.
So does she.

I have seen that book before, but didn't realize how official and indepth Rogan really gets. He really does his homework, it seems. I will be picking it up today. Thanks!
